Apa kabar, LBH Bandung?
Kami di sini masih hidup. Masih bersuara. Masih menunggu.
Bagaimana kabar kalian di luar sana? Apakah pekerjaan berjalan baik? Apakah agenda-agenda terus bergulir seperti biasa?
Tapi kami selalu hadir.
Panjang umur anarki.

Open Letter from Bandung May Day Anarchist Detainees
How are you, LBH Bandung?
We are still alive in here. Still speaking. Still waiting.
How are things in your world? Does the work proceed smoothly? Do the agendas continue their predictable march forward?
Meanwhile, we remain trapped here. Ten people inside the West Java Regional Police detention facility. Day after day, the same question returns to haunt us:
Do we still exist in your eyes?
We constantly hear the solemn declaration that everyone has the right to legal assistance. That access to justice must not be dictated by political background, organizational affiliation, or the stigma attached to a name.
But once the label “anarchist” is stamped upon us, does this grand principle still hold?
When a person is branded a perpetrator of violence, do they instantly forfeit the right to defense? The right to be heard? The right to be regarded as a human being at all?
We are not asking to be justified or absolved.
We are only asking: does the principle of legal aid remain intact when the case becomes unpopular? When it threatens the comfort of your institutional image?
If you still have the time, come and visit us.
Tuesday and Thursday are the designated visitation days.
Or contact our lawyer if you prefer to hear the details of our situation directly.
Because behind the case files, the news headlines, and the circulating labels, there are still living human beings waiting for the slightest sign from the outside world—a world that prefers to look away when the spectacle demands it.
We thank the comrades across Indonesia and throughout the world who continue to remember us, who send support and ensure that our names do not simply vanish into the void of social amnesia.
Perhaps we are not always right. Perhaps we do not always win.
But even those who are accused, hated, and abandoned still possess the same rights before the law—or at least they should, if the word “justice” is to retain any meaning beyond mere theater.
And so we will keep reminding everyone:
Justice that appears only for those who are liked, accepted, and integrated is not justice at all. It is merely another instrument of the spectacle, another mechanism of control disguised as morality.
We do not always win. But we are always present.
Long Live Anarchy!
BANDUNG MAY DAY 2026 ANARCHIST DETAINEES.
